ord/kjøtt (words/meat) is the first comprehensive presentation of the history of theatre drama in Norway. Ivo de Figueiredo presents the most important playwrights, closely reads their texts and places them in a wider literary and historical context. The book is an engaging account of the rich, but largely forgotten, history of Norwegian drama between Henrik Ibsen's shadow and Jon Fosse's light.

The book jacket covers the lower part of the book, and the binding has typography in embossed gold foil as well as a spotlight printed on it.
