Brand Identity

Donald Duck Magazine logo

Client: Egmont Publishing

Donald Duck is a cartoon character created in the USA by Walt Disney and appears in a number of films from The Walt Disney Company and in the fictional town Duckburg. But even though Donald Duck is an American invention, he has a special position in Norwegian and Nordic popular culture. The Norwegian magazine Donald Duck & Co has been published since December 1948 and today it is the most read cartoon in Norway. The logo for Donald Duck & Co was designed especially for the Norwegian publication on behalf of Egmont Publishing, and versions for Denmark and Sweden were also created.

The logo was drawn in collaboration with Marius Renberg.

The lettershapes were initially drawn by hand on draft paper and then traced and digitized as vector graphics before fine tuning and completion of the logo.

Versions for Denmark (Anders And) and Sweden (Kalle Anka) were also created.
